Suns win another heartbreaker, 6-4 in 11
Biscuits almost win it in regulation

MONTGOMERY – When Montgomery Biscuits designated hitter Sergio Pedroza grounded into a ninth-inning double play at Riverwalk Stadium Tuesday, their rally fell just short and they fell once again to the Jacksonville Suns, 6-4, in 11 innings.

The Biscuits scored twice in the ninth, on singles by Rashad Eldridge and Erold Andrus. With men on the corners and one out, Jacksonville manager John Shoemaker elected to intentionally walk Johnny Raburn to set up the force. Reliever Brian Akin, who blew the save, avoided the loss by getting Pedroza to send a hard grounder at second baseman Aldolfo Gonzalez. The keystone man turned two and sent it to extra innings.

In the 11th, James Tomlin smacked a first-pitch fastball from Wade Townsend up against the wall in left-center to score the deciding runs. Townsend took the loss and Akin won, pitching three innings.

It was the fourth straight win for Jacksonville, and they stand a game away from a five-game sweep in Montgomery.

Just as they had in the first three games, the Biscuits enjoyed a 2-0 lead at one time. Andrus doubled home a pair of runs in the second inning after a dropped ball in center field by Enterprise native Adam Godwin.

Richard De Los Santos held the lead until the fifth, pitching out of jams along the way. Ivan DeJesus' RBI single tied in 2-2 in the fifth, and an inning later, the Suns grabbed the lead with a solo home run by Russell Mitchell. Jacksonville put one mor run on De Los Santos before his departure, as Jamie Hoffman doubled to plate Lucas May in the eighth.

De Los Santos lasted until an out into that eighth inning, the Biscuits' longest start of the year. He was in line to lose until Montgomery's ninth-inning rally.

The Biscuits attempt to avoid the sweep Wednesday night, as lefty Mike Wlodarczyk battles Suns righty Mario Alvarez at 7:05.
