	For Immediate Release: April 19, 2004 BayBears Drop Biscuits 6-4 Mobile Wins Opener in Comeback Listen to the Broadcast Montgomery -- The return of Jason Standridge to Alabama did not prevent the Biscuits from dropping their third straight game, this time a 6-4 decision to the Mobile BayBears in front of 3,409 fans at Riverwalk Stadium Monday night. Standridge, who was making his first of two rehab starts with the Biscuits, allowed two runs on eight hits in five innings of work. Mobile jumped on top of Montgomery early when Jesse Roman singled through the box to plate Jake Gautreau from second base and give Mobile the 1-0 lead. The lead was extended in the fourth inning when a sacrifice fly by Roman scored Gautreau again, who cracked his second double of the game, earlier in the inning. The Biscuits responded in the bottom of the inning when Robinson Cancel clobbered a two run homer out of the park and over a passing train to tie the score at two. Montgomery's final two runs of the game in a fifth inning rally that saw the catcher Iker Franco drop a surpise bunt between the pitcher Germano and a stunned Gautreau. B.J. Upton later singled in Franco to push the score to 3-2. Jose Velazquez then strolled to the plate and had an RBI single that scored Dan DeMent make the game 4-2. Mobile began slowly chipping away at the lead until finally overtaking the Biscuits in the seventh after a single by Josh Barfield scored Todd Donovan to give the BayBears a 5-4 lead. The final run of the ballgame came in the eighth when Freddy Guzman's double scored J.J. Furmaniak from second base, giving the BayBears the final 6-4 margin. Mobile's Justin Germano (1-1) recorded his first win of the season while the Biscuits Franklin Nunez (0-1) took the loss. Brad Baker was credited with his first save of the season. The Biscuits and BayBears go at it again Tuesday at Riverwalk Stadium in game two of the four game set. Montgomery will send righty Jamie Shields (0-2, 7.45 ERA) to the mound to face Mobile's Duncan McAdoo (1-0, 4.09 ERA).
