Aaron Vargas - “Voice of the Biscuits”
Aaron Vargas enters his first season as the "Voice of the Biscuits" in 2013 after spending last season as the Biscuits' number-two broadcaster. The Oak Ridge, Tennessee native spent this past off-season serving as the radio play-by-play broadcaster for Charleston Southern University football and men's basketball in Charleston, South Carolina. While in Alabama, he called AHSAA basketball state championships for both boys and girls on TV for CBS in Birmingham.
Vargas came to the Biscuits in 2012 after two seasons as a play-by-play broadcaster with the Florida Collegiate Summer League based out of Orlando, Florida and serving as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the league in 2011. A graduate of Carson-Newman College (Jefferson City, Tennessee), Vargas spent four years as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for both men and women's basketball as well as fill-in broadcaster for football while enrolled at Carson-Newman.
As an Eagle, Vargas was a three-year starter on the baseball team, serving as team captain during his senior season.
