Riverwalk Food Among Best in Country
Man vs. Food: Alaga Chicken Biscuit 4th-best ballpark food in U.S.
MONTGOMERY, AL – Riverwalk Stadium’s Chicken Biscuit with Alaga Syrup has been named the fourth-best ballpark food in the country by Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food host Adam Richman. Richman revealed his list recently on ESPN’s First Take.
The Chicken Biscuit with Alaga Syrup has been a local favorite at Riverwalk since the park opened in 2004. Richman, a renowned food-expert, fell in love with the dish comprised of a deep fried boneless chicken patty served between a freshly baked biscuit. Two styles of warm Alaga syrup (original Cane style and Yellow Label) are served on the side. The Chicken Biscuit with Alaga Syrup is sold at the Biscuit Cart on the concourse behind home plate, and comes with two per order.
“We’ve always taken great pride in our ballpark food,” said Biscuits Co-Owner Tom Dickson. “We understand that great food is a big part of the ballpark experience, and being recognized for that commitment by Man vs. Food is something we’re very proud of.”
The Chicken Biscuit with Alaga Syrup is one of a number of food options at Riverwalk with a local flavor. Alaga was opened in downtown Montgomery in 1906, and more than a century later, continues to thrive in the Capital City and throughout the country. A tradition in the South, VP of Public Relations Virginia Whitfield of Whitfield Foods/Alaga Syrup puts it best, "You can't beat Montgomery Biscuits Baseball, and if you want to understand the true "Sweetness of the South", just put a biscuit with ALAGA syrup on it in your mouth!".
As “The Official Syrup of the Montgomery Biscuits”, Alaga and the Montgomery Biscuits have enjoyed a partnership since the team came to town. "Alaga Syrup and the Montgomery Biscuits make a perfect pair. It is very rewarding to have Richman choose Alaga and the Biscuits," Les Massey, the CEO of Whitfield Foods/Alaga Syrup said.
Man vs. Food airs on the Travel Channel every Wednesday at 8:00 CT.
