MONTGOMERY, AL – The Montgomery Biscuits released their 2010 schedule today, along with an exciting promotional schedule for their seventh season highlighted by new post-game concerts, one-of-a-kind giveaways, special food offers and 15 MAX Fireworks Spectaculars.
The Biscuits will kick off their season with a bang on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 7:05pm against the Mobile BayBears featuring Thirsty Thursday specials and a MAX Fireworks Spectacular. Opening weekend continues on Friday, April 9th with Myron Noodleman, presented by WSFA 12 News and Saturday, April 10th with a MAX Fireworks Spectacular.
“Biscuits games have always been a top source of entertainment for the people of Montgomery, “ said General Manager, Greg Rauch, “and the 2010 schedule features new promotions that will continue that tradition.”
At the top of the new promotions list are three post-game concerts that will be FREE for fans attending the game. Thursday, May 13th will be 80s Night featuring popular Montgomery band The Spicolis. Following with the Thursday tradition, June 10th will be Jimmy Buffett Night featuring Alabama’s own Buffett tribute band, Bama Breeze. Capping off the post-game concerts will be a Country Night performance on Friday, August 6th in partnership with WLWI. The artist for the country night concert will be released at a future date.
The 2010 schedule will also feature one-of-a-kind giveaways including an Evan Longoria Bobblehead, presented by Alfa Insurance, on Saturday, April 24th.
In addition to continuing to offer drink and food specials on Thirsty Thursdays, the Biscuits also announce the addition of Dollar Dog Tuesdays, occurring on every Tuesday game date, where fans can purchase $1.00 regular size hot dogs all game long!
“Biscuits games have always been an inexpensive option for families here in Montgomery,” said Biscuits co-owner Tom Dickson. “We’ve added this special food offer as a thank you to Montgomery and to continue providing affordable family entertainment.”
The promotional schedule also includes several theme nights and special guests, including Christopher and his King of Pop puppets on Friday, June 25th in conjunction with Michael Jackson Tribute Night. The carnival returns to Montgomery, as June 5th is Circus Night. Raymond, the Tampa Bay Rays mascot, returns on July 23rd for Tampa Bay Rays Night. Former Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy will be a featured guest on Grand Slam School Night on Friday, May 14th.
The Biscuits will move the April 27, May 5 and May 11 games to 10:35 a.m. for three Grand Slam School Day events. The early games combine education and fun as Montgomery school children arrive to the park in the thousands. The days fuse baseball and education by showing children the importance of education in sports.
Saturday, June 26th and Friday July 10th will offer up a chance for local churches to join in on the fun for Family Faith Nights, presented by Faith Radio Broadcasting. Friday, July 10th will also feature a post-game concert with artist to be determined.
Every Sunday game will continue to cater to the Biscuits younger fans as Kid Days featuring free crafts and Coke Kids Run the Bases. Sundays will also feature a variety of guests just for kids including Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer and more.
