Burrell Latest to Rehab With Biscuits
Four Rays Already Have Joined Montgomery Roster

MONTGOMERY, AL – Reflecting the rash of injuries suffered by the Rays thus far this season, the Biscuits have welcomed four Rays on rehab assignments thus far this season, with DH/OF Pat Burrell joining the club on Monday, June 8th.

Nicknamed Pat "The Bat", Burrell is attempting to work back from a neck strain that has held him out of action since May 10th. He has been on the disabled list since being placed there retroactive to May 11th. The first overall selection in the 1998 draft, Burrell signed with the Rays in the off-season after helping the Philadelphia Phillies defeat the Rays in the 2008 World Series.

Burrell has appeared in 30 games this season for the Rays, hitting one home run and compiling 17 RBIs. He hit 33 home runs and drove in 86 runs for the Phillies in 2008. Missing time due to injury is uncommon for Burrell, 32, who has appeared in no fewer than 127 games in each of his eight seasons in the Major Leagues.

RHP Chad Bradford has made one appearance for the Biscuits, allowing a run in an inning against Jacksonville. He continues his rehab assignment with Montgomery.

C Shawn Riggans appeared in three games with the Biscuits the first week of May, before aggravating his shoulder injury. He continues to linger on the disabled list.

RHP Jason Isringhausen made four relief appearances for the Biscuits between April 20th and April 27th. He allowed one earned run over four combined innings. He has returned to the Rays' bullpen and made six appearances for Tampa Bay.
