Riverwalk Stadium named #18 Best Stadium
Experience in 2012 by Stadium Journey Magazine

MONTGOMERY, Ala. –Montgomery’s Riverwalk Stadium was named the eighteenth best stadium experience on the “101 Best Stadium Experiences” list in the January issue of Stadium Journey Magazine.  This ranking, which encompasses venues throughout the country, at all levels and sports, puts Riverwalk as the second best experience in all of minor league baseball and the fourth overall in professional baseball.

To compile their rankings Stadium Journey uses the FANFARE scale, which measures food & beverage at the stadium, overall atmosphere, the neighborhood in which it resides, the fans, access outside and inside the stadium, return on investment, and allows for room for "bonus points" for unique features. Riverwalk is ranked behind venues such as Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts), Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox) and the Daytona International Speedway (Daytona 500).

Owned by the City of Montgomery, Riverwalk Stadium was built into an existing train shed along the Alabama River and opened in downtown Montgomery in 2004.  The ballpark was the cornerstone of a downtown revitalization project that continues today. “It is a privilege for the Biscuits to be recognized among these elite organizations and venues. Past accolades Riverwalk Stadium has received include: Best Stadium Operations in Alabama from Birmingham News (2004), Best Stadium in Minor League Baseball from Baseball America (2006), in the Top 10 Best Places to Watch Minor League Baseball from ESPN.com (2008), Best Stadium in the Southern League from Baseball America (2009), Perfect Baseball Venue from Stadium Journey Magazine (2010) and One of the Coolest Ballparks in American from Complex Magazine (2011).
