Lee Sets Hit-Streak Record, Biscuits Roll Suns

9th-inning double gives Lee 21-game hit-streak in 6-2 win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hak-Ju Lee set a new Biscuits (48-40/12-8) record by extending his hitting-streak to 21 games with a 9th-inning RBI-double that helped the Biscuits roll the Jacksonville Suns (41-49/8-12) 6-2 Wednesday at the Baseball Grounds.

It's the third time in the last five games Lee has waited until his final at-bat to extend the streak. Sitting at 0-for-4 entering the ninth, Lee jumped on the first pitch from Mike Ojala and ripped it into the right field corner to score Mark Thomas.

The Biscuits never trailed in the game, breaking the scoreless tie in the fifth with a Mike Sheridan home run, an adding four in the sixth with a two-run double from Sheridan and a two-run single from Brad Coon.

Nick Barnese (1-0) picked up his first win of the season, holding the Suns to two unearned runs on five hits over 5.1. Joe Cruz and Adam Liberatore (8) combined to throw 3.2 innings of one-hit, shutout relief. Jacksonville starter Graham Taylor (4-8) was tagged with the loss, leaving after the fifth having given up just one run.

Tyler Bortnick and Ty Morrison joined Sheridan with two-hit efforts.

Alex Colome will pitch for the Biscuits in the middle game on Thursday at 6:35 CT against Jacksonville righty Matt Neil.
