Biscuits Held to 2 Hits in Blowout Loss

Ethan Martin takes no-hitter into the 7th in 11-1 Lookouts victory

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Ethan Martin took a no-hitter into the seventh and the Chattanooga Lookouts (15-20) offense exploded to take the series-finale from the Biscuits (16-19) 11-1 Thursday at AT&T Field.

Kyeong Kang's opposite field double with one out in the seventh was the first hit of the day against Martin (4-1), who went seven full innings and allowed a run on two hits while striking out seven. Omar Luna followed with a single to score Kang and give the Biscuits their second and final hit of the night.

The Lookouts chased Biscuits starter Joe Cruz (2-5) with a run in the first and four in the fourth to go up 5-0. Cruz gave up the four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two in his third-straight defeat. Chattanooga would collect four more runs the following inning against Merrill Kelly, then two in the sixth against Alex Koronis to finish the scoring.

The top eight in the Chattanooga order all had at least one hit, with J.T. Wise and Kyle Russell both enjoying three-hit nights.

The Biscuits will now return home for a five-game set with the Jacksonville Suns beginning Friday at 7:05 with RHP Matt Buschmann throwing for the Biscuits against the Suns' LHP Jose Alvarez.
