Biscuits Crush Lookouts in Shutout Win
9-0 victory the first shutout of the year for Montgomery
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Biscuits (16-18) scored nine runs over the first four innings and Kyle Lobstein spearheaded the team's first shutout win of the year, clinching a winning roadtrip with a 9-0 thumping of the Chattanooga Lookouts (14-20) Wednesday at AT&T Field.
After scoring single runs in each of the first three innings, the Biscuits sent 11 men to the plate in a six-run fourth. The top six in the order all drove in one run in the inning, with Henry Wrigley's double highlighting the outburst. Brad Coon, Omar Luna, and Mike Sheridan all chipped in RBI-singles in the frame.
All told, the first seven in the Biscuits order all had at least one RBI, and eight of the nine scored a run. The Biscuits did the damage to the Dodgers' #2 overall prospect, Allen Webster (1-5), who allowed all nine runs (seven earned) on seven hits and two walks over 3.1.
Lobstein (2-2) walked five but struck out seven in firing five shutout frames to get the win. Scott Shuman and Neil Schenk both added a pair or scoreless relief innings to preserve the shutout. The Biscuits walked nine total (one-short of tying a season-high) while striking out a season-high 12.
Sheridan (above) went 3-5 to pace the attack, with Wrigley and Luna both contributing two hits and two RBI.
The Biscuits will look to complete a 7-3 homestand at 6:15 Thursday as RHP Joe Cruz faces off against Chattanooga RHP Ethan Martin.
