Biscuits Fall Behind Early, Lookouts Even Series
Chattanooga beats Biscuits 5-3 as Biscuits strand 12
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Biscuits stranded double-digit runners for the fourth-straight game and fell to the Chattanooga Lookouts (14-18) 5-3 Monday at AT&T Field.
The Biscuits left the tying run on base in the ninth, and have now left 47 runners over the last four games.
Chattanooga's Jake Lemmerman nailed a two-run homer before Jake Thompson (0-3) recorded an out in the first. The Biscuits tied the game on a two-out single from Hak-Ju Lee in the second, but the Lookouts jumped right back in front on a J.T. Wise two-run double in the third. The teams traded runs in the fifth with Kyeong Kang smacking an RBI-double, but that would complete the scoring.
Thompson allowed five runs total on five hits and a season-high seven strikeouts over five innings in the defeat. Lookouts starter Chris Withrow (1-1) walked six but held the Biscuits to three runs over five innings to grab his first win.
Omar Luna (above) led the Biscuits offense with a 2-3 night.
RHP Shane Dyer will face off against RHP Nathan Eovaldi in Tuesday's middle game at 6:15 CT.
